Our organization was initially founded to provide support to the town after devastating storms and hurricanes (Tropical Storm Erika, 2015; Hurricane Maria, 2018) destroyed homes and infrastructure, depleted food supply and put human lives at risk.
In 2015 and especially in 2018, we supported the relief and recovery efforts of Salisbury, supplementing national and international aid (and at times being the stand-alone provider of relief the weeks immediately after the hurricane) as the villagers tried to rebuild their homes and their lives.
We aim to have the funds and the networks ready to quickly mobilize help and resources post future hurricanes. The ability to provide water, food, medical and basic needs quickly will alleviate hardship and be life saving. Our fundraising efforts and mission remain highly focused on ensuring help and relief after disasters strike.
